Portland. The heart of Oregon, and home to one of the largest and most richly diverse school districts in the Pacific Northwest, seeks its next school district leader. Portland has long been a beacon of progressive thinking and deep community engagement, where thoughtful community-members work collaboratively to find solutions to the complex challenges of our times. Our Portland Public Schools is ready to hire its next leader, and we invite highly accomplished educational leaders to consider this role. We are unabashed in our focus on eliminating systemic racism and the adverse impact it has on student learning; and our next Superintendent will continue the organization’s deep commitment to this work.

Our vacancy is currently open, and will remain open until April 19. We intend to select a superintendent in early June, and to welcome our new Superintendent this summer to the join our greatest assets: the 44,000 students and 8000 hardworking staff who make PPS the incredible organization that it is.
